Here’s a little clip from MMPfilms showing what Thomas Harstad, Christian Halland and their photographer IJ experienced when they where filming at mt.rose a couple of days ago. Take it as a lesson and be always aware of the consequences when hitting the backcountry! Fortunately nothing happened to the guys and they could enjoy the rest of their trip. That’s it for today, respect mother nature and stay safe!

btzlogo.jpgAfter CHILLing last year, H8 productions and the Advita crew have been working hard on their new video which will be out in fall 07. Due to lack of snow in Europe, the guys had to travel a lot to find the right spots to express their styles. So this film will be about all their adventures, good and bad.

Check out their first teaser and head to their website for more videos, rider presentations and goodies.

As they say on their website “Focus is a raw and aggresive look into the lives of snowboarders trying to make a career out of something they love so much. Let us take you on an artistic journey into the lives of a few individuals and their circle of friends who are all on different paths but are all connected by snowboarding. This film will document a winter of their triumphs and failures and why they put so much blood, sweat and years into this winter passion. People, who struggle through many things in life just so they can snowboard. People with everything to lose and possibly nothing to gain: people brought together by one focus – snowboarding.”

Watch their teaser:

Location : Flachauwinkl (AUT)
Date : March 31 to April 1 2007

The official 3 Star TTR contest had to be postponed from Saturday to Sunday. The reason was the bad sight which made it impossible to clear “the biggest Spring Battle Jam Kicker ever” without any risk.

Sunday, April the 1st :
The setup for the Absolut Park Spring Battle 07 consisted of a fat booter with massive airtime bigger than any other Spring Battle kicker before. At the end of the course on the right they had a 6 m Tree Bonk, a Wallride in the middle and a small Corner on the left – the riders had to face a choice.

Right on the buzzer, the Isenseven crew treat us with a new monthly episode of high definition snowboarding! Check it out here.

The past few weeks, almost everyone spend time shooting in North America for a quite long period of time. We had an awful season in Europe, so we just jumped into airplanes quite spontaneously and stayed there way longer than planned – while the editing computers stayed home, of course.
It was a season far away from home, with plenty of catnaps at airports, bad food, rental cars, studying maps, meeting new friends, having extraordinary high phone bills and missing his own bed at home. In this months clip, you’ll watch some outtakes of our crew in North America – tired, confused, surprised but still, most of all – happy to travel with a bunch of friends.

mmp_logo1.jpgThe MMPfilms crew is working hard on producing their 2007/08 video. Last week they uploaded their first podcast about a little rail trip to Prague that they did early this season with Iouri Podlatchikov, Christian Haller and Gianluca Cavigelli.

Check it out on their webpage!

If you lived in the 80ies or are just aware of the European history of snowboarding, you have for sure seen or at least heard about the mythical trilogy Apocalypse snow.
These movies shot in the mid 80ies inspired snowboarders all over the world!

Régis Rolland, founder of Apocalypse snowboards, A snowboards and today APO snowboards was the main protagonist.
Well Régis has decided to prepare a comeback: times are alarming, the secret of riding as been stolen from Régis. To get it back, he decides to call all his friends, old and young, skiers, snowboarders and more, to help him out… 😉

The list of riders taking part in the project is sick: Jeremy Jones, Berti Denervaud, Steve Graham, Jean Nerva, Axel Pauporté, Mathieu Crépel, Doud’s and Bab’s Charlet, Xavier De Le rue, Julien Haricot, Karine Ruby, Doriane Vidal, Denis Bertrand, Denis Rey, David Vincent…

The shooting has started this winter in Chamonix and the 26 minutes movie will be out for Xmas 2007.

Refresh your memories on Apocalypse snow with this video or check out the teaser here.

avatar-tv-1.gifIn December we announced you the release of the movie LINES produced and directed by legendary freerider Axel Pauporte and his wife Flora (refresh your mind here).
Now they have been showing the movie around in different places and during different snowboard events like the ISPO, the Arctic Challenge and the Billabong Jr Pro before the official release planned this summer.

We watched the movie during the Swiss Premiere in Leysin and we came out of it completely stunted!
LINES is a must see for every rider because it showcases the true legendary freeride pioneers and the new kids who are bringing their tricks and flavors to riding the majestuous Alaskan mountains.

By following the Absinthe crew on their image quest during two months in Alaska and mixing it up with interviews and anecdotes by Farmer, Ranquet, Goodwill, Jealouse, and more, Axel and Flora have managed to show on film what big mountain riding is all about: the essence of snowboarding!

America, America, America, F@#k yeah!
Comin’ again to save the m@#!$@#!$@#!$g world yeah!
America, F@#k yeah!

That’s Team America‘s hymn, Flow on the other hand has released their first teaser for the upcoming 2008 team video called F*#w!.
This first teaser showcases the riding of Antti, Scotty and Risto, going big in pipes all over the world or scoring runs in contests.
Otherwise slashing fresh snow on skiers is always fun too!
Comin’ again to save the m@#!$@#!$@#!$g world yeah!

O’Neill Big Mountain Pro 2007March is a very busy month contest-wise and we are receiving press releases from all over the place right now. March is also usually the time of the year with the best snow conditions…let’s beg that winter finally starts massively in Europe too. The organisers of the innovative freeride contest format – the Swatch O’Neill Big Mountain Pro 2007 – definitly need it anyways!

With innovation lying at the core of everything we do, it made perfect sense to push the envelope and develop a new contest format for 2007, and one that promises to revolutionize the world of freeride snowboard and ski competition as we know it.

In early March 2007, the inaugural edition of the Swatch O’Neill Big Mountain Pro will see 16 of the world’s best snowboarders and skiers coming together for a competition like no other.

Starting out in the picturesque Swiss ski resort of Laax with the Take-Off Party on 1st March and culminating in the Awards Party in the Austrian city of Innsbruck on 10th March, the O’Neill Big Mountain Pro will adopt an innovative mobile format guaranteeing the competition the best possible snow conditions and terrain.
